Adding the Google site verification meta tag to 3.7 and above:

Steps 1-4

1. login to the file manager of your cart: cart settings/file manager
2. navigate to /content/engine/design/templates/wrappers/elements/element-default-head.html
3. Copy all the contents of that file to a text editor such as notepad
4. In notepad add the Google meta tag as shown below to the top of the document

Steps 5 and 6

5. Save the file with the name element-default-head.html

6.  In file manager, next navigate to /content/skins/_custom/skin/templates/wrappers/elements/ and upload the file and save “shown below”

Step 7

For immediate site verification, enter design mode and exit to rebuild cache.
